Erindale Prime SAMM Ram Sale – Full Clearance
The Erindale Prime SAMM ram sale was held on-property at Erindale, Lake Cargelligo on Thursday, 26th September, with a full clearance achieved.
A total of 66 SAMM rams were offered and sold, presenting as an even line of well-muscled sheep with impressive length and type.
Bidding support came from 16 registered buyers spanning a wide area, including Ariah Park, Burcher, Dirranbandi QLD, Wamoon, Rankin Springs, Cradock SA, Goolgowi, Tamworth, Temora, Tullibigeal and the local Lake Cargelligo district.
The top-priced ram was secured by Paul Brown of Goolgowi. The standout sire, Tag 98, was a June 2024-born twin weighing 115.5kg, featuring a 45mm eye muscle and 22-micron wool.
The Hayward family extends their thanks to Hargrave Rural Traders and auctioneer Wayne Spencer for once again conducting the sale, and to Matt Lacey of Michell Direct Wool for his valued support. The Erindale Annual SAMM Rams Auction of 2024 concluded with outstanding success, achieving a remarkable 100% clearance rate. The event showcased top-quality rams, with the highest bid reaching an impressive $2,250. The average price across all sold rams was $1,115, reflecting strong demand and healthy competition among bidders. Last year’s auction reaffirms the excellence of SAMM genetics and the commitment of local breeders to advancing sheep production
